Glossary term:
Renewable Energy Community (REC)

REC members actively participate in the development, operation, and ownership of the renewable energy projects, which can include solar, wind, biomass, or other forms of renewable energy generation.

RECs empower local stakeholders and facilitate the transition to a more sustainable and decentralised energy system. By engaging and involving community members, these initiatives promote renewable energy adoption, increase public acceptance, and contribute to the local economy and environment.
